To effectively counter Planned Parenthood’s marketing programs on a nationwide scale, OAASYS (On-demand Alternatives to Abortion SYStem) must actively run ads in communities that 1) have a large population of young women, and 2) show evidence of many women actively seeking information about how to get an abortion.

For the first issue, it is easy to obtain U.S. census data showing a breakdown of population demographics by geography. Therefore, in any given city, we know the population size of young women aged 18-29, the age group that accounts for 70% of all abortions.

But where do we get evidence of how many women in any given city are searching for information about how to get an abortion? Google provides the answer. Google’s vast network of computer servers captures and stores data about every Google search made for information about how to get an abortion.

Our OAASYS service has access to this invaluable data. For example, we know that of all Google searches for information about how to get an abortion, 25% of those searches occur in just five cities: Los Angeles, New York City, Philadelphia, Dallas and Chicago. Just under 50% of those searches occur in only 20 cities, and 75% of those searches occur in 75 cities.

This vital information enables our team at Heroic Media to strategically prioritize the cities where we activate our OAASYS service to show the advertisements that you generously sponsor. We currently run Emergency Response Google ads in 12 of the Top 20 cities, and we run Education and Awareness video ads in all 20 of the Top 20 cities.
